Decal installation tips
Hi, and thank you for your order. Vinyl installation can be a tricky process, and we want to give you as many tools as possible to succeed.
On our site, we offer a couple of different technique videos for installation. Wet and Dry method.
**Note** Eyelids do not have transfer tape. Use Soapy water and heat gun/hair dryer for application.
If you do not have any prior experience with vinyl installation, please consider using the wet method. This method is the most failsafe for bubbles and alignment issues.
The videos are located at the bottom of the page at www.c2ccustomvinyl.com
A few tips before you get started:
- Make sure your area is 100% clean and free of debris.
- If applying on the body or glass of a vehicle, make sure to remove ALL wax off the surface. If the surface feels silky smooth, it has a wax coating on it. Clean it with dish soap to strip the wax. You should have a “squeaky” feeling when touching the vehicle in the area where you want to apply.
- This is not wrap vinyl. This does not have air-release technology. This product is ORACAL Vinyl, and is made to withstand all the weather and harsh conditions you can give it. That being said, please be patient and make sure you watch the videos. Bubbles are caused by faulty installation, and we cannot replace the decal due to installation issues.
- A credit card or drivers license are the best tools for smoothing out the decals.
- There might be an appearance of bubbles in the decal when you take it out of the box. If that happens, don’t worry – just smooth it back out. Unfortunately, this happens in shipping.
- If you ordered a multi-color decal, there might be multi layers of tape. This is normal. When you remove the first layer of tape you might see more. Don’t worry – Just remove it also.
- When removing the tape, be sure to GO SLOW! You can easily ruin your decal if you rush the process.
- Some decals are made to fill an entire surface area of glass (ex. 4 Runner Cargo Window decals). These decals will be oversized, and the expectation is to cut the excess off after installation using a razor knife. This will give the effect of filling the glass.
Remember, Patience is key. We love to see our work posted on the sites and thank you VERY much for your order. Feel free to reach out to us anytime!
